At first, would not open with my iPhone 4. After deleting the app and reloading, it appears to be stable and enabling access to purchases from my old Palm Treo days. However, the eReader website, created by a predecessor company and now maintained by Barnes & Noble, is marooned in a decade long past, with very limited book selections compared with Kindle, and poor technical updates. Really, how many people are still downloading books to a Handspring device?

I would wish for 3 1/2 stars, but I'll err on the benefit of the doubt. eReader had some issues for awhile. e.g.: when I changed devices, I lost half my books and couldn't download the books I had already paid full price for. They seem to have fixed this, but you'll still lose lines until you put on the scroll feature. Then you can read the missing lines, but only then. But it still has orientation lock, multiple fonts and sizes, light and dark reading and auto scroll, which is more useful then you might think. Overall, it is still a very useful app, though they still have a ways to go. Oh! and the book selection seems more limited now than originally.

I worked at peanutpress.com and Palm Digital Media. This used to be the only ebook application that was worth bothering with. Now, it's not worth bothering with. Download iBooks or the Kindle Reader and move on. Such a waste.

I used to ABSOLUTELY love this app. Used it on all my palms and immediately installed it on my old iPhone. Now it skips sentences from one page to the next. I still like this app more than any of the other readers but this has almost completely ruined this program!!
Worked Better Before...

I love this app but have been having some issues lately: Before the update that I downloaded yesterday (and after the one before), this app was skipping an entire line that was "hidden" between pages. Every time I changed the page I was confused and had to go back and scroll through the page break. Now, it skips one word in each page break. Please update again to fix!!
Disaster...

Since upgrade to 4.0 pages would skip sentences so you ended up with half a book. Then wouldn't let me complete a purchase but would loop back to sign in page over and over. Now won't even load. Have almost 200 books I paid for and can't access. Shame on B&N. Fix it guys. Now!!!!

I've been with eReader since peanutpress.com days and my palm pilot. I am so disillusioned with the direction Barnes & Noble has taken the ebook concept.
I have 1955 books. I cannot have all my books loaded into the application as if I do it crashes the app. Yet, the only way to load books is from the website but they are only guaranteed for two weeks after purchase.
Can we say major design flaw???
So, I cannot obtain access to books I have already purchased and I'm not guaranteed they will be available for download tomorrow.
Will someone with scruples please purchase fictionwise and make my nightmare go away!

I have over 600 books on fictionwise and when I delete a book from my list the app crashes. When you go to open it again it crashes again. So basically you download the app, download your books, read and DON'T delete the book you just read cause your app will close. SMH
