WAY more than a "voice recorder"... whether you just want to recall a conversation later, or are serious about capturing the sounds around you, Griffin iTalk is the app you need for your iPhone or 2G iPod touch (2G iPod touch requires Apple Stereo Headset or similar compatible headset).

Your recordings are saved for replay on your iPhone or iPod, and you can use iTalk Sync (a free download available at http://www.italksync.com/download) to drag-and-drop them as high-quality AIFF files to your computer over a Wi-Fi connection.

User-centric features include:

- Choose from Good/Better/Best quality levels.

- Pause/resume and append to existing recordings on the fly.

- Append text notes to your recordings for later reference.

- The one-button recording interface is designed for quick, easy operation in the field, and simple management of your recordings.

iTalk System Requirements:

I think this app is great. The sound quality is great (I only use the best quality setting though). I mainly use it to record song ideas that my band comes up with while we are practicing. I can then very easily transfer them back to my Mac and send mp3s of the the recordings to the other people in the band. I also find the ads non-intrusive and in no way detracting from the overall user experience. If you are looking for a high quality voice recorder with the ability to transfer back to your Mac, this is it.

WoW!!! i just downloaded my first CPA (Certified Public Accountant) review recordings, it was 3 hours and 47 minutes long, thank u for this free reocorder, it saved me a lot of money and time, the least things i have yes i wish it was ad-free ( why stare at the recorder when its on?) but it was free application plus the download software it FREE too, can ask for more Thank U for this awesome tool

This is the kind of app that makes owning an iPhone so cool. Easy to use, super simple to download recordings over wifi and all for FREE. Used Audacity to import and then export to mp3 with no issues and great recording quality. A free app this good makes you WANT to buy the pay version just to show your appreciation. Saweeeet...

Recording Lectures...

Works well recording lectures, I sit in the back of the lecture hall. I hear the teacher well,he does not use a mic so this app pics up as well if not better than a tape recorder - now one less thing I have to carry. Have not tried other uses of app yet but very pleased with playback.

People need to stop complaining! This app works perfectly if you have the intelligence of at least a 7 year-old. Set the sound quality to best. I love the menu displaying stored recordings, plenty of options. Thanks.
