I loved this app because I could listen to audiobooks on the bus to work and while waiting for the bus. It could do this because the files were stored locally. Was a great app, not anymore. Now that it's streaming only, it's totally useless because it requires WIFI and can't store audiobooks at all. Another great app and public domain effort bites the dirt. So sad to see it's demise after so many put so much effort into reading chapters. :(

This was a great application! then i made the mistake of upgrading. The best feature (download to your phone) is gone, as it streams over wifi i can now no longer sit and listen as my leisure.

I used to listen to books everywhere with this app: while driving, at the gym, and I loved it! Not being bound to wi-fi to listen to great classics was the best this app offered! But the upgrade (or should I refer to it as a downgrade) took the best of this app and threw it all away! What a shame!! I guess I'll be deleting it from my iPod!!

This was one of the first applications I installed on my Ipod Touch and prior to this “upgrade”; was my absolute favorite. The ability to search and download from such a vast library of work while connected at home so I could listen offline at work or “on the road”; was fantastic and completely justified my purchase of the touch. I am utterly disappointed with this update which has made the application useless to me and probably for EVERY touch and (some) iphone users. I am now uninstalling it and will get my audiobooks through other means, but not however via the itunes app store. I refuse to be manipulated in such a blatant way by a company who would force a developer to implement a mechanism clearly meant to drive away users and force those users to get their material from their (apples) App store even when that material is free.

I raved about this app until the downgrade. I travel a lot and wifi isn't available in my car. Deleting app and moving on.
Disappointing Update...

The update did say the application had changed to "streaming" rather than downloading content, but I tried it anyway. What a mistake!! Besides needing to be tethered to the Internet (which I cannot do with an iPod touch), the update also added a very intrusive advertisement (which is difficult to avoid hitting by accident). I understand advertisers are the reason why many apps are free, but it could have been done more tastefully. It's a good thing I had synced with my comp not too long ago, so iTunes still had the old version, which I will continue using until a real "update" is introduced. Honestly, the one best thing about this app was being able to listen while offline...bring that back or you won't have many users in the future.

I used to download books and listen to them at my cabin. Now I can't because we don't have wifi there. Can't you put it back the way it was?I used to love this app.

I loved this application due to its wide range of free books to listen to and ability to listen to them anywhere due to the way that the application downloaded the whole book to the iphone. The newest upgrade now relies on streaming capabilities and will cut off in the middle of a chapter because it looses the connection. This is horrible for me due to the fact that I listen to these books the most at work where I have very spotty service. PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK!

I wish that I had reviewed this application before the update. I would have given it 4 stars. I was able to download the books onto my iPod Touch and listen to them wherever I was. Now, I am shackled to a WiFi network. I can get that through my desktop computer. Please put the Download option back onto the application. I will never be able to get through a WHOLE book by streaming it. PLEASE.

Live streaming of the content has now crushed the utility of this app. Did anyone ever think about iPod users who travel? Go back to the original functionality and let some of these classic works "see the light of day"
