Perfect But For One ...

This is a terrific app, very quick and easy to use. It gives you many ways to find and purchase your title. However, this app lacks one very important (and rather simple) tool. "Other Formats." As a B&N employee I can asure you that virtually every popular title these days will come out almost simultaneously as and audio book and a hardcover. And the audiobook will be available as an MP3 download or as a physical set of CDs. Most popular books that have been on the shelf for a while have half a dozen different formats. However, when you search for a title, or use the slick snapshot option, your results may be the CD when you in fact want to purchase the hardcover, or the hardcover instead of the paperback. I can already see customers completing their purchase through this app and being disappointed when they get their product in hand, not having seen the tiny type identifying their book as a CD audiobook. What's needed (and should be quite simple to implement) is a link to all of the various formats for any given title. Add this (and maybe a way to manage your membership settings) and you have a virtually perfect app.
Not Member-friendly...

As one reviewer has already noted, current members of BN are not recognized. I have been a card-carrying BN member for years. Yet I was prompted to complete an iPhone member application. Why should I have to carry two accounts AND why should BN maintain data on two accounts. It seems the left hand is not speaking with the right hand!

I love the app, but hope that some more features will be added in the future... For example- account access, a 'wish list' and more ways to search by genre, author, etc... I use almost daily though, and love it!!
*edited to add that I am extremely disappointed that the items I put in my cart keep disappearing so I have to look them up again**
No Ability To Store ...

I do not understand why e-tailers make iPhone apps that don't sync to your online account. In this case, I also don't understand why it brings you to Safari to check out. It would be much more useful if your account information were stored in the app and check out happened in the app as well. I'm pretty certain this will be fixed in later versions, but it doesn't make sense to release an app without basic functionality like that. This could be a great app, but it's not there yet.

I always spend hours at the book store just reading the backs looking for an interesting read. My boyfriend hates it! This app is so wonderful! All new releases and recommend reads right at your fingertips. It's a must have for book lovers and even more a necessity for members.

This app lacks the ability to break up bestsellers by genre, something I really wish it had as I enjoy non-fiction works the most. With that it would be 5 stars no doubt
