Very Good, But. . .

The ability to append to recordings is great. All I would ask of this recorder is Bluetooth integration for audio playback. Voice recorder can do this so I know Griffin can! When they do, I'll buy the pay version.

It's amazing that you have to have WIFI to transfer files. My place of employment doesn't have WIFI, so trying to get a 22meg file out of here is impossible.

Why do I need italksync to sync it to a computer I am already connected to via USB? I have never been able to sync the recordings so they are of use on the phone only. I can't email any file over 5MB even if i pay for the software. This seems like a stupid design to me. Why can't I simply transfer the file over the USB cable that came with the iphone or does that not make sense? The recorder is awesome but if I can't take the recording off the phone, it's useless. I wish someone would explain the sense of a wifi transfer and not a USB transfer of these recordings.
If it was easy to transfer recordings to a pc this program would be awesome

The only thing I might suggest would be the option of being able to record a file as either .aiff OR .mp3. Other than that, two thumbs up! Thanks.

Just wondered why I have to connect via WiFi to transfer files to my pc. Seems just as logical to be able to transfer with a USB connection. I missed that small tidbit and spent about 30 minutes wondering why I couldn't get the iTalk Sync to work. I finally realized (my fault actually) that WiFi was the only way it could be done. It clearly states that, but I just assumed I could transfter files via hard-wire. Sorry, just old fashioned, I guess....
Great But Room For Improvement

Needed something other than voice memo to record lectures for class. This does well but the one problem it that it takes forever to download over a wireless connection. Typical lectures are an hour.. about 250mb on the best setting. I can't seem to find out if the pro version is faster? Anyone out there know? I would buy it if it was, but I won't until I know for sure. Put a little more speed on the download and you'll have a 5 star product!

I clicked to install what is listed as the Full version for free. It says NOTHING about LITE anywhere. When I click install, the icon says it's the Lite version. SHAME ON YOU!
Better Than All The Others I Have Tried

This has simple features that work well and it is very user friendly. The recording quality seems a little better than rest. The 'trashcan' feature is a novel idea as well. The best thing is that there is free software to download the sounds from your phone.
I expected nothing less from griffin. They seem to pride themselves on good work, and this is no exception.

Better Then The Recoder That Comes On The Iphone

I used to have this app on my phone, but I deleted it when the 3.0 update came out giving me a new recording app. THAT WAS A MISTAKE. This one is so much better!!! It emails larger files, and the play back is much easier to manage. I can skip around different parts of and singel recording -- the standard voice memos app that comes with the 3.0 update doesn't let you do that. If apple was going to make a memo recoder they should have made it comparable, if not better, then what is already out there (and free!!!)

Doesn't Work

I can't get it to play on my iPod. Also, I downloaded the program to sync the memo, seeing if I could listen to it on my computer, that does not work either. I have both a second generation itouch and a macbook computer. I don't know why it doesn't work but it just doesn't.
Great Fidelity But Not Perfect

The fidelity of recordings made with iTalk is very good. Its only weakness (and this is pretty important) is its inability to control incoming volume levels. I have tried several times recording at loud outdoor venues and the unit overloads very easily with no way to limit its sensitivity to overload through a microphone level or volume level. The units AGC or auto gain control cannot cope with loud passages which lead to distortion. For voice and medium volume inputs, however, this is an excellent program.
Awesome App For Recording Inteviews

I use it for recording interviews. Interviews usually take about 1~1.5 hrs. It works great even in the cafe. I usually set the quality as 'good' , and it works just fine. There is one thing to remember: maximize the volume before recording.
Better Then The Built In IPhone Recorder

I've used this app since before apple decided yo release their version. Apples is definitely best suited for a quick few seconds note.
I attempted to use apples recorder for class and recorded over an hour. Sad thing is I was never able to replay my recording. When I attempted to listen to it it just hung after a resart of the app it said the recording was 0 seconds.
I gladly came back to this recorder and easily record over 60 minutes with ease and actually CAN listen to them again.

Good, But There's A Bug In This Update

This is my favorite recording app, much better than Apple's built in voice memos, definitely. However, there's a problem with the 2.0.0 update. Now when I go to enter a name for each recording, the text box doesn't always slide up so it's visible. It often stays down "behind" the keyboard and you can't see what you're typing. Hopefully this will be fixed soon! :)
Quality Company, Rough Product

The interface on the iPod touch / iPhone is attractive but the need for a standalone desktop app to transfer your files to your computer is, um, ancient. The product needs to use Wi-Fi and a web address/file listing to get at your data. And don't require me to have an FTP address for your product. I think it has potential, and perhaps the Pro version contains that potential; but, this free version doesn't cut it for me when so many other recorders are available for less than $4.99 (iTalk .. Pro)

I've always liked this app...it does well what it is designed to do and is polished and intuitive to boot! With the latest update I do miss the green glow when the app is recording and the red when paused. Now it is red all the time. Other than that...great job guys!
