Q: What is an ad exchange?
A. Ad exchanges are online marketplaces for buying and selling advertising impressions. Advertisers maximize their click throughs by bidding on precisely targeted audience segments.
Developer FAQ: Advertising

Q: How does Mobclix maximize my eCPMs?
A. Mobclix gives you 100% fill rates by giving you access to more advertising networks than any other advertising management solution.
Our yield optimization engine then makes sure that your application is serving advertisements from the highest paying network at any given moment based on revenue and analytics data.

Q: How much does it cost to use Mobclix?
A. Nothing. Zip. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Mobclix does not take a cut of your advertising revenue.

Q: Why is Mobclix the best advertising management solution?
A. - More advertising networks.
    - Automated on-the-fly highest eCPM network selection.
    - Side-by-side comparison dashboard of ad network performance.
    - Add ad networks without updating your application code.

Q: I'm already signed up with a particular ad network, can I import my account?
A. Absolutely! You can import your publisher keys and account login information on the developer dashboard.

Q: Do I have to give Mobclix my advertising network account login information?
A. Nope! Although you will miss out on some benefits. The Mobclix yield optimization engine uses the account revenue data to ensure that you are getting the highest eCPM from across all of your networks. The Mobclix reporting dashboard uses the data to display all the statistics from all your ad networks side-by-side for easy comparison.

Q: How come my reporting numbers change?
A. Ad networks can take up to two weeks on average to finalize their reports. The reason for this variation period is because networks and advertisers need to consolidate their numbers from a variety of tracking services to guarantee accuarcy.

Q: Can I use you through Adwhirl?
A. We are discontinuing support of Adwhirl due to developer concerns. We strongly recommend you integrate Mobclix directly.

Q: Should I sign up for every ad network?
A. Yes! This will guarantee that your app gets access to any and all of the great campaigns that flow through our exchange on a given day.

Q: I live outside the United States, how should I fill out my account information?
A. If you have an international bank account number (IBAN), you can enter it in the account number box. For the routing number, enter your Swift code or National ID. For the SSN, please enter 000-00-0000. Note that for an international wire transfer, we charge $35. Alternatively, you can use PayPal.

Q: In the "Optimization" section of the Mobclix Developer site, what is the precise meaning of "Allocation"?
A. The meaning of "Allocation" would simply be: The percentage of ad requests during which the specified ad network will get the first attempt to serve an impression. So, if an ad network has an allocation of 40% that means that on 40% of your ad requests, that network will get the first chance to fill the ad.

Q: In the "Optimization" section of the Mobclix Developer site, what is the precise meaning of "Priority"?
A. The meaning of "Priority" is: The order in which ad networks are tried when the first ad network tried fails to deliver an ad. So, if an ad network has a priority value of #2 then it will be tried second. Also note that networks are never tried twice during the same ad request, so if the priority #1 ad network gets the first try at the ad and fails to return an ad then we automatically try the next available ad network with the highest priority.

Q: What happens if the app is unable to contact the Mobclix servers? (e.g. the server is temporarily unavailable, or the user's DNS server doesn't return a valid response for the domain)
A. If an ad request cannot be filled for any reason then the SDK provides a callback to indicate this to the client so that developers may take whatever action they like, but our SDK does not do anything in addition to the callback. Most notably, if a previous ad is already being displayed and an ad call fails (perhaps due to network connectivity being lost) then the existing ad will simply stay on the screen.

Developer FAQ: Payments

The terms are complex due to the nature of our model. Because we work with ad networks who represent agencies, there is a lag in payment following the flow of money through various parties. The traditional payment terms ad networks carry with publishers are generally net 90—some have terms of net 120 days.

Q: When do I begin receiving payments?
A. Your first payment will come no later than net 75 days (75 days after end of first month).

Q: How often do I receive payments?
A. After your first payment, you receive payments every month thereafter based on when/what we receive from the networks. In the event that Mobclix does not receive full/timely payment from an ad network, our finance team will continue to request prompt delivery on your behalf. Ad networks can sometimes delay payments or send partial amounts for a given invoice; should this occur, our finance team is automatically informed and will actively pursue your payment, without any additional action needed from your end.

Q: Is there a minimum?
A. Yes, minimum earnings for a payment to be dispersed is USD $100. Until then your account will accrue until you reach USD $100. If you don't reach USD $100 in balance over a period of 180 days your earnings will convert to advertising credits equal to the dollar amount that has been accrued. This credit will expire 180 days after the conversion date.

Q: What are the payment terms for iAd & AdMob?
A. When using our SDK for iAd & AdMob, please understand their payments go directly to you. We aren't involved in their accounting cycle as we are with our other 25+ ad networks.
